I have a letter in today's FT about AI use in language testing??? As AI makes learning English more widely accessible at a basic level, true language excellence has become a real differentiator in business and education. The data shows us that international students admitted on minimum English requirements often struggle to keep up. This highlights the need for robust, high-quality language testing that goes beyond the basics. What allows language learners to set themselves apart is humanity: it pushes forward the advanced communicative skills that we see in high demand among employers and recruiters. Basic proficiency is not enough to ensure professional success in a non-native language. Read the full article through the link in the comments??? #QualityMatters #ELT
